From the beginning of Living Word, we have made it a priority to seek God first. To accomplish this objective in recent years, we began each year with a time of prayer and fasting. This year, our desire is to saturate ourselves in the Word joined with prayer and fasting. These days are intentional as they begin a new season, a new year. Together we faithfully seek God first trusting in His power alone to create lasting impact in our lives, our church and our community.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalms 119:105 NKJV. Join us in reading the passages specified for each calendar day on the reading plan.
The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all the good things God desires to bring into our lives. Remember, your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is very important to know your body, your options, and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do. God desires to bring into our lives.
Because we are a family that’s relational it is good to know that we are not on this journey alone. So during the times listed below we will gather together with one another either via teleconference or onsite. Our times together will consist of a devotional and a time of prayer.
