The last words of any person before life as we know it ends, are very significant – more so the words of Jesus. It’s to be noted that Jesus’ last words to His disciples, instructs them to wait for the Holy Spirit. Why? The whole focus of Jesus’ ministry was not merely that people be forgiven of their sins, brought into relation with God, and then have the hope of an eternal destiny when we conclude the sojourn pilgrimage of this lifetime. As we wait for that ultimate realization of promise we are to be participants and partners in an ongoing global harvest. The equipping for that partnership, is facilitated through our availability to the person and work of the Holy Spirit.
This current teaching series parallels the historical time-frame between the resurrection of Jesus Christ to Pentecost. In the culture of Israel, Pentecost historically is the celebration of the beginning of the agricultural season’s harvest. Pentecost was selected by God as the day He would pours out His Spirit and begin the global harvest of lives by equipping the church to fulling it’s mission. The Holy Spirit active in a life is vital to our witness. This series addresses:Transmitted Authority, Understanding biblical authority, the facts of Pentecost, the people of Pentecost, and the language of Pentecost.
